All speculation, off course...

Where does it say that this takes place in the north of Ascalon? I must have missed that...regardless, considering that the title has 'north' in it, and the last 2 chapters had no snow at all, i think it's *somewhat* safe to assume that this new chapter is going to be wintry/snowy.

Thanks kinda a neat idea, i like it!

If you missed it, Gaile already said some of it is true so it's not all false. And of course there'll be a CE, no self-respecting mmo would miss that chance for extra cash

If any of this is true I'm glad to see that Anet is wrapping up GW1 and starting on GW2. The 3 games (and soon to be 4) that make up GW1 are all great, but it's time for something new, and by "new" I don't mean some shitty standard MMO like WoW. I have faith that in GW2 the developers will knock my socks off. What will I do for 2 years in between Eyes of the North and GW2? Well, it definitely won't be WoW, maybe I'll try Warhammer, mostly I'll be playing the games that make up GW1 (still lots of titles to finish lol). I might even go outside and enjoy some fresh air.
My GREATEST hope for Eyes of the North is either some way to link progress between characters on an account (maybe make alts usable heroes), or allow us to change primary professions on a character. I'm a title RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO so I mostly only have time to play my warrior. What use is capping all the elite skills, earning a bazillion skill points if you'll never use 99% of them, cause your primary profession is unchangable?

Oh God if there is a collectors edition and some kind of Divine Aura I WILL NOT MISS OUT like I did for GW:Prophecies...
Also, I hope Divine Aura doesn't carry over to GW2... I don't want to be jealous forever.

I know this is irrelevant to this thread; but blizzard did announce they were working on a new mmo of an old favorite. It seems it's most likely either Word of Diablo or World of Starcraft.

I hope that the 10 new heroes thing is false, if it's true, then i would assume that one of the major things is that we would be getting the option of playing this offline at some point.

Ha! It'll be like bringing my Chew Chew (mini Charr Shaman) to play with me, only more so.
But can someone explain to me why they're putting "not all false" information in? I get wanting to make more sells and bring more people in, but why mix false information into it?

Well all see what the future brings. Im still playing gw with great pleasure, and will welcome GW2 when it comes out. The reason im rather relaxed about this "news" is that Aion is coming, else id be shitting bricks.

my guess on what we have been told
Quote:
I can tell you that some of what you've read is right,

The add-on will be known as Eye of the North, and stands to be released in Q3 of 2007, gamers must own at least one of the already released GW campaigns
The graphics engine will be brought up to date with latest graphics developments in 2009-10, so you can expect a game engine which will offer unrivalled graphics features in world of MMOs.
18 new multi-level dungeons, 40 new armour sets, 10 new Heroes and massive 150 new skills, out of which 50 belong only to PvE (Player versus Enviroment).

and quite a bit of it is misleading
|
this expansion will be the last throw of the dice before its successor appears on the market
Guild Wars 2. This is a full sequel and will be released in 2009-10 timeframe, with a public beta being released sometime next year. This game will be set several hundred years after GW: Prophecies and Eye of the North, but the main drool factor will be zone-wide events (read, open war in DaoC and Alterac Valley style), combined with refined control system, oriented for action and ease of use. Playable races include Humans, Charr, Norns, Asurians and Sylvarians.
